What Type of Web Hosting Do You Need?
The web hosting industry is flooded with hosting companies sometimes it’s hard to find out which one to go with. You have to ask yourself what is important to you. I always start with first deciding what plans do I have for the website. If I know the website is going to have a forum that might get popular within the first 6-9 months then I will go straight to VPS hosting .
If I want to just put up a blog then I will find blog hosting for wordpress. Wordpress is the only blog software that I will use and you can often find good hosting for less than $10.00 per month. Almost all the wordpress hosting companies offer the same thing, PHP, MySQL, and cPanel. Having cPanel is a must for me since I use the features almost weekly.
If I start to look for hosting for a corporate website then I might go with a dedicated server. Dedicated servers can handle work loads better and traffic that is associated with large corporations. If you have a small to medium business you may be able to get away with shared hosting or a VPS account. It really depends on how much traffic you will have and how many database connections you may be needing. When you do find a host be sure to compare their web hosting plans to see which best fits your needs. The great thing about web hosting is that most companies offer an easy way to upgrade without any hassle.
