Are you thinking of moving to a Mac? Perhaps you’re tempted with Apple’s latest iMacs. Maybe you like the design and simplicity. But you’re not sure which one should to get. Some people really think Apple outdid itself with the stability of the Mac platform while some others think the iPhone or iPod is their crowning achievement. But, when you choose one, you’re presented with more options to upgrade your processor, the graphics card, memory, the hard drive. You can add software. You can buy accessories. .

If you have video editing and graphic design needs, you’re going to want The base 27-inch iMac model for $1699 is good if you do video editing and graphics. The 27-inch model has a dedicated video card, but the base $1,199 model has an NVIDIA-designed 9400M video card that shares its memory with rest of the system. That card works, but it won’t give you the capacity if you want to run several windows, and have efficient playback of the video and graphics you’re working on. ewverybody digs this but my Apple favorite happens to be the iPhone, though slow to repair if you use the mainstream channels. The 27-inch screen is really a pleasure to view your videos, displaying all the tools you want available on your screen.

If you just do a little video editing, you can upgrade your processor to quad-core i5 or i7 and a more powerful graphics card. Then the 27-inch base model will work for you. Quad-core processors are powerful. They’re great for editing lots of video and pictures at once. But they are spendy and hopefully—most likely the prices will come down if you can wait a year.
